Year 6 Moving to High School in 2026
Dear Parent/Carer,
Online applications for moving into Year 7 2026 open on 3rd March 2025. All students have a designated local high school which is decided by their home address..
If you would like your child to attend a government high school in 2026, you will need to complete an expression of interest for Year 6 to 7 transition.
If you choose to seek a placement at a high school other than your in area designated local high school, you can choose up to three schools in order of preference and provide reason(s). It will be up to the high schools whether they will accept your out of area application or not.
Students applying for selective high schools will need to complete an application in the event of being unsuccessful in gaining a place after the selection test.
After you submit this expression of interest, your child will be offered a place at either your local designated or out of area government high school.
The expression of interest form should be completed in English. If you require an interpreter, you can call the Telephone Interpreter Service on 131 450. This service is free of charge.

2. Select “Start expression of interest”
3. Type in home address then follow the steps
To apply for a Non NSW Government school (private):

2. Select “Advise placement not required”
3. Then follow the steps
