Welcome from our principal

Merrylands East Public School is situated on traditional Aboriginal Dharruk land, near the main central business district of Parramatta. The vision of MEPS is to "create the future" in a safe, supportive learning environment where all students develop knowledge and skills necessary to be self-directed and collaborative problem solvers in a globalised and highly digital society. Our students are encourage to become active global citizens. Underpinning this vision is the instilment of strong core values for all students of fairness, participation, excellence, honesty, respect and responsibility. Set on picturesque grounds, the school is adorned with artistic murals, a synthetic rubber-based playground, five water tanks, a photovoltaic system consisting of 150 solar panels, and landscaped grounds.

Founded in 1928, our school operates two buses and all sporting, cultural and core curricular programs are free of charges. There are no voluntary contribution schemes or education costs. With the exception of a heavily subsidised overnight trip for Stage 3 students, all excursions are free of charge as the school operates two buses and our location is close to Merrylands Station.

Wellbeing and support staff

Our wellbeing and support staff guide student wellbeing, learning needs and inclusion. They work with teachers to make personalised adjustments. This means each child can take part fully in school life. We make our school welcoming and accessible to every child.

MEPS work in partnership with inter-agencies and allied health services to support students and families.

Transition programs assist students entering Kindergarten, transferring from another school and exiting Year 6 to high schools. For Year 6 students, our school support students with their book packs, stationery and full school uniforms, if required.

Administrative and operations staff

Our administrative and operations staff keep our school running smoothly. They support students, teachers and families every day. You can find them in our front office or on the school grounds.
